Since 1998 I've been sending out these reflections first thing each week--one or more quotes plus my thoughts about the intersections and contradictions. They're archived here back to 2002, and a new one is posted every Monday morning. Dialogue is still welcome . . .

Quote #1133 - #MayShowers
06 May, 2024
MAY SHOWERS
"All rain is, is a cloud--falling apart, and pouring its shattered pieces down on top of you. It makes me feel good to know I'm not the only thing that falls apart."
Lone Alaskan Gypsy
"A poet is someone who stands in the rain and hopes to be struck by lightning."
James Dickey
"For after all the best we can do when it's raining is let it rain."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The April rains have come;
the only problem is it's May.
We're all confused.
The earth itself is as well.
What have we done to our dear planet?
And yet
And yet
we need to release.
Release the bursting clouds of their water weight.
Release effort out of pores . . .
Release pain and sadness in weeping . . .
Water saves me.
Hot showers, cold showers, steaming hot baths . . .
Drinking water,
Splashing water on my face,
Water on my hands, cool water up my arms . . .
And definitely rain . . .
Spring is here--with its tempestuous skies bursting forth--
and right now we need the rain so much.
